Hey all. Are you looking to share your crafting spirit with those in your area? Want to find crafty friends? Well, this is it, this is YOUR event. You're invited to the 2012 Craftsy Meetup Party!
To make it even more exciting, we're giving away boxes of fun Craftsy swag and crafting goodies to the top 10 Craftsy Party Meetup locations by January 5th, 2012. It's simple to get started!
Step 1: RSVP for your city
Step 2. If interested in helping out in your local community, become an organizer & pick a place to meet. Maybe you'll chose a coffee/tea shop, library, restaurant or other public meeting space.
Step 3. Decide what you would like to do at your party. Can't think of an idea? How about some of these fun ones: share a current project over coffee, form a craft stash swap, create and donate an item for charity, create adult/child craft tables, or demonstrate a crafting technique.
Most of all, we want everyone to have fun. Send your Craftsy party photos to us at meetup@craftsy.com. We'd love to see your party in action!
Hey Crafty Knitters! I tried to find this link a few weeks ago, but couldn't, now here it is....yay! The Yarn Addicts of Santa Rosa are meeting on Thursday, January 26, and we are havig a Brown Bag Challenge. For those of you who are interested, but may be unfamiliar with the concept, here are a few details: You find some yarn in your stash (at least 1 full skein) and place it in a brown bag and close it up. Bring it to the Yarn Addicts meeting and exchange it for another brown bag....NO PEEKING! You will then have until July to make something with your new yarn...you can either incorporate it into a project with other yarn, or use the yarn in a project by itself. It is really fun to see what people come up with. Yarn Addicts is a great way to meet other like minded people, and make some new friends. We are a friendly, welcoming group, with knitters of all ages and skill levels. RSVP if you want to join us!

Thanks everyone for making this event successful! I had fun putting it together and really appreciate the support from you all. It was especially fun running off the "sour grapes" chess players! I think the brown bag challenge was loads of fun, and can't wait to see what everyone creates with their new found yarn. See you next week!
Posted by Katha January 26, 2012I also have a swift and ball winder if you need another.
Posted by Barbara Neal January 23, 2012I think we're good there....not sure we will even need mine. See you Thursday!
Posted by Katha January 24, 2012Looking forward to Thursday night! Bring your "brown bag" yarn, and any favorite books, projects, notions you want to share (show & tell time!) I will bring my swift and ball winder for anyone to use while there and some "learn to knit" kits for any beginners who come. Bring a friend! Don't be late, we start at 7 p.m. (of course we will let you in if you absolutely can't make it there on time !)
Posted by Katha January 23, 2012I plan to be there.
Posted by Barbara Neal January 13, 2012Great, Barbara! Looking forward to meeting you!
Posted by Katha January 19, 2012I have reserved the meeting room at Starbucks for this event. They charge $20/hr for the room, so PLEASE RSVP here if you haven't already! Depending on how many commit to coming, we will determine if the room is needed. We are planning some fun "extras" so ask your knitting and crocheting friends to join us!

Posted by Katha January 8, 2012P.S. MANY OF OUR GROUP ARE WORKING MOMS, SO WE DON'T MEET UNTIL 7 P.M.
Posted by Katha January 8, 2012One meetup I attended meets at Starbucks in Santa Rosa. They meet at a Starbucks that has separate areas with large tables. This worked well for the knitted or crocheted projects we worked on. Would this work for your projects?
Posted by Karen November 26, 2011Hi! I am a member of the group that meets at Starbucks. We meet every Thursday at 7 p.m. We have a great time and welcome new members.
