Come jion us - Creative Connection Presents a Free Panel discussion on Cloud Computing!

Cloud Computing is being mentioned in all the trade journals these days & is the latest technology that you should understand.  But what is it?

Come join us for a FREE Panel Presentation: "What is the Cloud?"

Some technology gurus insist that "The term 'Cloud Computing' is a marketing buzzword with no clear meaning.  It is used for a range of different activities whose only common characteristic is that they use the Internet for something beyond transmitting files... The term is a nexus of confusion.  If you base your thinking on it, your thinking will be vague."

Indeed, Oracle's controversial CEO Larry Ellison insists that "I can't think of anything that isn't Cloud Computing with all of these announcements.  The computer industry is the only industry that is more fashion-driven than women's fashion.  Maybe I'm an idiot, but I have no idea what anyone is talking about.  What is it?  It's complete gibberish. It's insane.  When is this idiocy going to stop?"  Richard Stallman calls it "A trap, worse than stupidity."

Compounded by terms such as "virtual", "scalable", "peer-to-peer", "client-server" and just plain old "There's an app for that!", it's no wonder that folks are confused about "What's in the Cloud."

We'll try to fix this: Please join technology practitioners and creatives John Sarazen, Richard Oppenheim and Lorin Ricker for a panel presentation on "What is the Cloud, Exactly?...and Why Do I Care?" -- At the next Creative Connections meeting, at 9:00am on Friday, August 19th.

John, Richard and Lorin will demystify "the Cloud" and "cloud computing," with a bit of history, lots of humor, down-to-earth, non-technical explanations, and plenty of practical examples.  Your take-away will be clarity and understanding of what this controversial technology trend actually is, and how it will figure into your creative and professional life and be of benefit to you.

Join us for the next Creative Connections, Friday, August 19th 2011, 9:00am, at the Colorado Community Church, 3651 S. Colorado Blvd, Denver (
