It's April and Easter is upon us. So I thought an Easter Egg hunt photography style was in order. This Challenge sounds simple but can provoke a lot of thought and creativity. It's one of my favorite photography exercises!
Here's the challenge: Photograph an egg. Seems simple. But wait, there's more...
1. Keep it real. No plastic eggs, no candy eggs.
2. Keep it simple. Try to photograph a plain egg, no make up.
3. Think location, think lighting, think angles, think out of the fridge.
4. I suggest you hard boil your egg first. They have a tendency to pull a Humpty Dumpty and roll onto the floor.
Ok to inspire you, here is what I found with a quick Google search: Google Images of eggs
And a few of my own: Karen's egg photos
There really is a purpose to this exercise. To get you to see a very plain, ordinary object in a new way. If you can adjust how you look at an egg, imagine how you can adjust the way you look at the rest of the world!
Have fun. Be creative.
