Have been interested since I was a child when my mom gave me her Kodak twin lens reflex. From there I graduated to an Instamatic--with flashcube! Started doing some more serious film photography with a Konica rangefinder as a young adult. Lack of time and money interfered. Went from there to a series of point and shoots, and eventually learned to take some pretty good photos (at least in my opinion) with the last one. Now that I'm retired, I still don't have have much money, but I have the time, so I'm back with a digital SLR. Because if not now, when?
Learn to improve my technique and about cameras, accessories and software. Plus it'll be nice to be with people who won't mind talking about photography.
No one in particular at the moment.
Am an improving photo amateur and photography student. Hoping to learn--and share when I can. I recently joined the Howard County Photographers and thought the two meetings I attended so far were helpful and interesting.
The evening of the meeting, I was so tired and dragging, and so I was thinking of not going. But I went and am very glad I did. Between the interesting presentation. critiquing of some wonderful photos, and all the laughing I did, I felt so much better when I left the meeting than when I arrived.
