We are about Creative Writing: fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, screenwriting.
We meet Mondays at the Beanery cafe's back room, reserved for us from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. Only members allowed. (To become a member, join at the meet-up.com website for CreativeWritersBerkeley.)
At 6:45 p.m., we'll begin with brief self-intros; at 7:00, we'll write for 90 minutes; at 8:30, we'll share (optional) excerpts and/or insights about our writing process with this supportive Berkeley Writers' Meetup.
Arrive early to find easier parking in the popular Elmwood shopping area of Berkeley. I'll be at the Cafe at 6 p.m. to welcome you. There's room for up to 20 persons. No cover charge. However, as we'll be occupying the cafe's tables for two hours, fairness calls for every person attending to buy a snack at the counter. (I've no business connection with the cafe, just a regular, happy customer.)
Organizer: C. J. Singh <[masked]>
Brief Intro: A recent MFA in Creative Writing, I've published comic-ironic stories in literary magazines such as San Francisco's ZYZZYVA, Berkeley Fiction Review, Konch. (Earlier, I completed a Ph.D. degree in Psychology at Stanford, specializing in Organizational Behavior.) Currently drafting a novel "Speak Up, Roma," using as a guide John Truby's acclaimed book "The Anatomy of Story." (See my detailed review of the book on amazon.com.)
