We are about Creative Writing: fiction, poetry, nonfiction, screenwriting.
NO CHARGE. Open invitation to join at meetup.com/CreativeWritersBerkeley.
At 7:00 p.m., we'll begin by listening to a poem by Billy Collins, included in Janet Burroway's acclaimed book "IMAGINATIVE WRITING: The Elements of Craft, current edition." Billy Collins is former poet laureate and America's most widely read poet. At 7:15 p.m., we'll begin writing for 90 minutes. At 8:45 p.m., we'll share (optional) excerpts from our writing and listen to Billy Collins' own favorite poem.
Arrive early to find easier parking in the popular Elmwood shopping area of Berkeley. I'll be at the Cafe at 6 p.m. to welcome you. There's room for up to 12 persons. No cover charge. However, as we'll be occupying the cafe's tables for two hours, fairness calls for every person attending to first purchase at the counter. (I've no business connection with the cafe, just a neighborhood, happy customer for more than two decades.)
