Seminar Description: This is a one day Safety at Sea Seminar designed by sailors and experts specifically for local boaters, sailors and cruisers. Seminar provides both novice and experienced mariners with information and skills required to be safe on local coastal waters from Long Island into Fishers Island Sound, Narragansett Bay and up to Cape Cod. 

Topics include: Lessons learned to prevent disaster, damage control, crew overboard and rescue procedures (including PFDs, flares, distress calls), medical care and prevention, handling heavy weather, life raft, and other demonstrations.

Moderator/Instructor, Captain Henry Marx has more than 40 years of sailing experience on both coasts of the United States, the North Sea and the Caribbean. Joining Captain Marx is a panel of experts in their particular fields.

    FYI - I'm going and I'll spend the night. Corine at Mystic Seaport suggested the Howard Johnson's which is close by and apparently gives people who are visiting the Seaport Museum a very good discount....
