"Sailing Today: Thoughts of a Boating Writer" May 22nd with John Rousmaniere. With three new sailing books this year -- two on the history of the sport and the other the 4th Edition of The Annapolis Book of Seamanship -- author-sailor John Rousmaniere has been doing some thinking about where sailing is today. Among the questions he'll cover are: What are the trends in seamanship and boats? What can we learn from recent accidents (John did reviews of three of them)? Is the America's Cup good for sailing? What does the future bode? . . . and whatever questions the audience asks. John has recently been presented with two of sailing's major recognitions: Mystic Seaport's W.P. Stephens Award for contributions for yachting history, and US Sailing's Timothea Larr Award for contributions to sailor education.
