Working as a Spanish teacher for some years I discovered and started to apply critical pedagogy in my classes. I also found out that even though it's very popular among teachers and educators I noticed that in New York the organization of it as a school is little or almost nonexistent.
That is why I created this group, to learn more about critical pedagogy and to experience in this city and at this moment in history.
I welcome all teachers, counselors, social workers, educators or anyone interested in changing the world with education.

“I am an English teacher interested in using education to change society. However, I don't really understand what you mean by "critical pedagogy"? My own teaching approach is essentially constructivist-cognitive in the mode of Dewey and Bruner.”
