Every time I get into a new group of folks who have different life experiences than I have had in life. Life experience, such as tending a parent over a twelve year period, who is slowly dying from dementia can change your thinking about life. I will never look at nursing homes and assisted living homes in the same way again. I support doctors who give families information about the process of dying without pain.
I taught critical thinking in Jr. Hi. as an extra curricular activity. CT should be in EVERY class! "It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it." - Aristotle, Greek philosopher [masked] BCE)
I have been a member for 5 years. It is a great group to stimulate your mind, while discussing issues...not personalities. I, especially, love to learn about the actual PROCESS of critical thinking which can be used during viewing media in today's culture or discussing topics with persons with a differing viewpoint. This group occasionally teaches critical thinking process. For quotes on critical thinking see the site below. http://www.procon.org/view.resource.php?resourceID=001926
