Can you remember the last time you realized you were wrong, and had to change your mind? If not, you are probably not a critical thinker.

I wouldn't make changing one's mind a necessary condition for being a critical thinker. I do believe that a critical thinker should be able to argue about the consequences of any given principle and should be able to argue about whether that principle is arbitrary or whether it is a proper generalization based on all that we know of our world and our selves.


The Critical Thinking Club (CTC) supports courteous, principled discussions about contentious claims. CTC members are encouraged to give talks. I encourage others to attend, to join and to give a talk. [I teach statistical literacy at college.]
