Crochet Connection of Chicago is a local chapter of the Crochet Guild of America. (Membership to the CGOA is not required.)We are a friendly group of crocheters of all abilities sharing projects, books, favorite podcasts, tips, ideas, motivation, and a common love of creating crocheted works. We ultimately want to have fun, meet new and interesting people, and enjoy a relaxed atmosphere with good conversation. Currently, we are the only exclusively crochet meetup group in Chicago.

If you have never crocheted before, we recommend taking a beginner's class at your local yarn store to get you started.  Periodically, Crochet Connection offers beginning crochet workshops. See the calendar for upcoming events. Crochet Connection meetups are a great place to develop your skills beyond the chain and single crochet stitch. 

Our meetups take place in various locations on the north and northwest sides of the city, usually on Saturday or Sunday.

"Well let me begin with ....I have the gift of foresight...visions..you see....I tend to see things in the patterns and stitches..ugh that aren't there. Sooooo when I saw a meetup on advanced stitches I am there..ready to exercise my gift. Well Tashia (the oracle) cleared up all that and set me on the right path. This (gift or curse) I have always messes me up! I tend to add things to the pattern (assumptions) or sometime can't see the stitch..for example the V stitch..... where is the V??????? Is that a chain space or V ....grhhhh..well needless to say my projects never come out like the pattern.......After spending time with the oracle (Tashia) I have a much better understanding of how to see the stitches..and how to NOT ammend the pattern! Popcorn is not only for the movie but crochet...woohoo...and it doesn't have to be fat free!!
