Game of Thrones in the Pub

  • Oct 10, 2013 · 6:30 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

We are getting together to play a round (or two) or Game of Thrones the board game.

Maximum 6 players, but if we have more interest let us know in the comments and I can book more space and we can bring along two copies of the game.

Please arrive by 6:30pm so we can start promptly, we'll be setting up from 6pm, Houses will be allocated on a first come first served basis!

Note:

If you're new to the game it might help to look up a bit of info about it and perhaps watch an online video walkthrough. We can teach but it's fairly epic so would be good for everyone to have some idea of what they are getting involved in. Don't let that put you off though!

Here's what it looks like, from the last time we played:

Great game everyone! Would be really good to play again sometime, although I think the long play time means another evening meetup will be difficult!

Yup, I've played AGOT once or twice with another evening/pub gaming group and it just about fits in. You do need to make sure you're underway by 7pm ish and make a point of not hanging about the first 3 turns so you have time to finish and don't need to overly rush later turns when the map has got a little more 'full and complicated'. Hopefully I'll make the next one!

My plans are now a bit up in the air. May at least pop by and say hello if that's okay.

Ok, please mark yourself as not attending so others have the chance to RSVP since this is a maximum 6 person event

Oh, you aren't attending anyway! Ignore me, hyper organised Emma

I'm worried I might not make it. Bah. I'm still stuck in my London press office, cooking-up a last minute story that's gotta be done. Could take quite a while to wrap-up. Will see. I'll aim to be there well before 7pm. If it's gonna be later, I might skip it as I don't wanna hold you up.

Would definitely be up for this but I've got plans for Thursday. This one has been sitting on my shelf unplayed for too long

Hi Gareth, I'd definitely be up for playing Game of Thrones some other time. The box has also been languishing on my shelf for several months :)

yup, I seem to always end up tied up and clashing with dates on this front too but I'll definitely be up for a game of AGOT in the near future

      I'll bone-up on the rules: http://www.fantasyfli...

The rules can look rather daunting, but generally the game has a good flow to it. There are just a few clunky things like ports. Anyway, it seems that the majority of us will have played at least once so there will be plenty of people to help teach the rules.

I can make it :) I should be there in plenty of time, but if I'm last please set up without me, and hand me the least popular house... and of corse, if I am late plot against me ruthlessly as punishment!

    • Hugh

P.S. I have played before, so I'm happy to give people sound advise as to why it's everyone else they should be paranoid about...

    • Simon

Great! Hopefully we can have a full game with all the houses.
