Those of you who follow our activities with ardent fervour will know that currently, we are looking for a new venue, owing to the fact that we are now getting to large to all fit in to Pat and Glyn's front room.
This month, we have booked a private room at the Spreadeagle Pub in Central Croydon, which is on the corner of High Stret and Katherine Street. It is easily accessible from both East adn West Croydon Stations and by tram, but not being a driver, I am not the best person to advise you on parking in Croydon.
Our speaker will be Bob Sauer, who will be talking on the subect of compassion. Bob has spoken several times at our group on subjects including Ancient Greece, Chinese Medicine, the Placebo Effect and Schopenhauer. He has always held his audience spellbound and appealed to philosophers and non-philosophers alilike.
Despite it's suggestive name, the Spreadeagle pub has a geneteel atmosphere. The meeting starts at Eight O Clock but you're welcome to join us in the bar downstairs from 7pm for a spot of dinner or a drink before we begin. All purchases come off the price of the room so when buying food or drink, please make sure you take a receipt and ask the par staff to record it on the Philosphy Group tab.
As always, please take my number[masked] down and ring me if you have any further questions or have trouble finding us on Friday Evening.
Look forward to seeing you al there.
