Firstly, many thanks to those of you who made it to our March meeting, which was a great success, and it was wonderful, not only to welcome new members, but also to former members whom we hadn't seen in a long while.
My apologies for getting the wrong day for our next meeting, as I didn't realise that 2nd November was Good Friday. The next meeting will be taking place on the 9th rather than the 2nd of February. We still have to decide on a paper to read but I will circulate this to the group nearer the time.
There are also two more dates for your diary.
On Friday 7th May, we will be attending a talk in Eden Park by Prof. Gwyn Hocking entitled "10 Dimensions - Towards a Theory of Everything", and we hope as many of you as possible will join us. We attended a talk at this venue on 5th March on Near Death Experiences, which turned out to be a really fascinating evening.
Our regular monthly meeting for May will be held the following Friday (14th)
I will be posting more details of these events shortly.
Finally, a big welcome to those of you who have joined our group since the last meeting.
The Croydon Philosophy/General Discussion Group is a friendly group who meet regularly - usually on the last Friday in the month - to discuss a wide range of subjects of general and philosophical interest. We also arrange visits to talks, debates and other events of interest to enquiring minds. We come from all walks of life and religious/political persuasions (or none) and you will be very welcome to join us, whether or not you have any formal background in philosophy. If you would like to know more, drop us a line We look forward to hearing from you!
