Croydon Dinner Club ventures even further a field to the very edge of the CR0 post code, this month! McDermott's fantastic fish and chip shop is rated as Croydon's number 1 restaurant on TripAdvisor right now - and rightly so with a majority of their reviews being 5/5 stars.
Our deal for the evening will be a large portion of fish and chips with bread and butter, pickles and other accompaniments with a complimentary tea or coffee - all for £12. An extra £1 will get you a delicious dessert.
So here are some of those reviews:
"Excellent service and always a warm welcome. They serve the best fish and chips, if you eat in you are also given bread/butter, pickled onions, gherkins and a small complimentary starter."
"Excellent. Worth travelling a few miles for the best fish and chips. This is how traditional fish and chips should be."
"... the best fish South of the river. The fish is crisp and the chips are tasty."
Need I say more? Ah, go on then. This restaurant is sat in the middle of an arcade of shops between Addington and Selsdon. The dining area is open and airy with a great decoration throughout. If the reviews are anything to go by, we are in for a treat.
Book early to avoid disappointment!
Tram - Pick up the tram outside East Croydon station to New Addington. The tram stop at Gravel Hill is the closest, with a 10 - 12 minute walk to the restaurant.
Bus - T31, T33, 64 and 359 all stop outside the restaurant. From the bus stops it's probably under a minute walk.
Car - There is ample parking to the front of the restaurant. I believe it is free but will check with the restaurant. If you are coming by car and can offer a lift to anyone from central Croydon, please say so in the comments below.
Meetup full? Don't worry, RSVP to the waiting list to be automatically signed up if someone cancels!
