Calling all investigators! Whether you’re a hardcore gamer or enjoy the occasional board game, whether you’re a seasoned RPGer or don’t know what RPG stands for, if the idea of delving into the secrets of an uncaring alien universe in order to save humanity from sanity-blasting monsters and terrors from beyond the stars catches your fancy, then this is the group for you. H.P. Lovecraft was an American horror writer who published numerous stories throughout the 1920s and 30s. He is the founding father of the ever-expanding Cthulhu Mythos—both a pantheon of gods and monsters and a philosophical viewpoint that the ultimate truths of the universe are not meant for mortal man to know. There are a number of great games based in the Cthulhu Mythos: The Call of Cthulhu role-playing game by Chaosium, the Arkham Horror and Mansions of Madness board games by Fantasy Flight Games, and now the Trail of Cthulhu RPG by Pelgrane Press. My goal for this group is to hold regular gaming sessions with the focus on the Call of Cthulhu role-playing game, but with get togethers for the other games as well. In Call of Cthulhu, you, the players, will take on the roles of average people from all walks of life who get caught up in nefarious schemes and dark designs; who are forced to battle evil cults, monsters, and even mad gods; who may journey beyond space and time; and if they are lucky, who might just live and stay sane enough to talk about.
Calling all Keepers! The group has grown beyond my wildest expectations. I'm now looking for people interested in running games and hosting events as well as playing in them. See our discussion boards for details.
There is no cost for joining this group, but I would ask those who come to share in the cost of food and drink, (i.e. feel free to bring your favorite snacks or tasty beverages), I will provide as well.
