Good News Tinkerers,
We got accepted into the 2014 San Mateo Maker Faire! For those of you who don't know, the San Mateo Maker Faire is the world's largest DIY convention specifically for hackers and makers, hosted this year May 17th and 18th, to showcase their individual or group based projects. Projects can range anywhere from homemade arts and crafts to industrial designed robotics, new Android or IOS apps. Imagine the San Diego Comic Con for technology enthusiasts.
As a Maker Faire showcase veteran myself, I can not stress how fantastic this is! Not only is the Maker Faire a truly exhilarating experience to contribute to, it's also a fantastic way to network between different makers.
Anyway, with roughly 39 days left, we got preparations to make! We here at Cupertinker Space have been busy planning for the last few weeks coming up with a series of exciting Faire based projects we think will amaze showgoers.
So come to our meeting FRIDAY, APRIL 11th, which will focused specifically on discussing our plans for this awesome event. In addition to discussing general preparation (those who are interested in attending, who would like to be what), there will be an informal in-house presentation of those currently in-development projects. I highly encourage anyone interested in participating in the Maker Faire with us to join in on the discussion.
Additionally, for those who are interested in showcasing personal projects, Friday's meeting will also involve a brief project evaluation by some of our core members. Table space is limited so be prepared to give a decent presentation!
We will be meeting at Panera on Stevens Creek.
As always, tinker away!
