good presentation, but a bit long; projector wasn't quite up to the task

Projector did not work very well, but otherwise it was very good. The people attending seemed serious, and the food was very good indeed. Ian Hirschsohn's presentation offered a path to "fallow ground" in a computing world that has become a monoculture.

Unhackable Cyber Barrier (CyB) OS? What are we smoking? Well...
    • Data executing as instrs and vice versa NOT possible. How does hacker load malware?
    • NO app or user accessible x86 machine code.
    • NO Internet or LAN connection. All comm. via HOST Win/OS X/Linux-to-CyB secured interface.
    • NO Heap – no mainframe OS had one.
    • NO FAT or NTFS. CyB uses custom, driver-level hard drive file management + encryption. (Sneak out a key-chain flash? USELESS)
    • Assembly I/O drivers and Ring 0 NOT accessible, even from kernel.

CyB real time system modeled on Control Data, Univac and IBM mainframes.
Ported from custom hardware to Xeon E7 x86 -- "Cray on a chip."

    • CyB PRO malware focus – Stuxnet, Flame, Mahdi, Gauss, etc.
    • System field proven over 20 yrs by 100s of professional users. Texaco seismic cross-sections and oil field maps, bill board size image retouch/manipulation...

We will show output examples and demo.
