Cycle Folsom's primary goal for this Meetup Group site is to allow CF Ride Leaders the ability to schedule rides, and for Members to see the schedule and plan ahead for it. The rides (Meetups) that are posted here, for the most part, are regularly occurring rides that typically happen each week. We may post special event rides as well.
Only designated CF Ride Leaders have the ability to schedule Meetups on this site. This prevents an overload of extraneous rides, and reduces the level of e-mail notifications sent to the Membership.
As you begin to ride regularly with Cycle Folsom, you'll begin to become comfortably affiliated with a core group of riders that are close to your skill level—at least that's the way it's been for those who have stuck with us. CF encourages you to communicate with and schedule midweek training rides with people you feel most comfortable riding with in your core group. This added training is what improves the quality of the regularly scheduled CF rides.
During the summer months, CF usually hosts regular to semi-regular weekday rides on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. These rides are geared toward women only on Monday, hill training on Tuesday, and flats on Thursday.
Our Mission: Cycle Folsom exists to provide an environment where cyclists can improve their cycling skills, strength and endurance through intelligent training. Each of our three levels of riding groups are designed to provide training opportunities for riders of different fitness levels and each is structured to address a specific riding discipline.
IMPORTANT: Be sure to check out the overview our our three ride groups, which will get you started in the right place. If you come out and the pace is too fast, feel free to ask for some training tips. Also, challenge yourself to do some more training on your own to build your aerobic capacity and strength, then come out and give it another try. You'll hear our regular members often speak with pride about how many times they used to get dropped on rides. If you stick with us, you will improve in strength, stamina, and cycling skills. If you ride at a faster pace than us, you'll likely become the person we aspire to keep up with. One of our mottos is "Chase or be Chased."
Again, if you haven’t ridden with us before, please take a moment to view the Group-Level descriptions. We realize that your time is valuable to you and your cycling time is limited; choosing the correct group for your fitness level is important and doing so will help ensure a positive group riding experience.
Membership to Cycle Folsom is free until January 31st 20013, however, we require that you submit a Membership Application, which includes a liability waiver. Please do this BEFORE requesting to join this group, otherwise your request will be ignored. For details, click on the link below:
