Cycle Folsom Message Board › Impromptu Rides, Additional Training Rides, or Events not Posted on CF Calendar › Marin County - Mt. Tam Ride - April 28, 2013
West Sacramento, CA
If anyone is interested I will be riding in Marin County on Sunday April 28, 2013. The main climb will be Mt. Tam and will also include Muir Woods, Stinson Beach and Point Reyes. Total distance is 112 miles with approximately 6,300 ft of climbing. The ride will be casual and at your own pace/distance of choice. There will be shorter route options if you don't want to ride the full 112.
The starting point will be Fort Baker (North side of Golden Gate Bridge) and will end at Stinson Beach for lunch. There will be a van to take us back to the starting point and it will also be available to sag once the driver is done with her shorter route. The ride will start at 9:30 am at Fort Baker. For those that want to go on a shorter ride, they can start at Stinson Beach, where the route will be 48 miles with about 3,400 ft of climbing. Route sheets will be provided at ride start for multiple route options and GPS routes will be available as well.
For those that would like to car pool the van will be leaving from a park-n-ride (to be named later) in Vacaville at 7:30 am. The van holds 8 cyclists and 8 bikes. This is a NON SPONSERED ride, but we will have bottled water, gatorade and extra tubes available if needed. As always be prepared with proper food and tooling in case of mechanical issues, etc. There will be places to fill water bottles along the way and the van will be available for major mechanical problems.
If interested or want more detailed information please reply to this message or email me at email@example.com.
If you have never ridden in Marin or climbed Mt Tam, there are spectacular views from the top!!
