Work from home so commute cycling limited. Prob do 12-14 mile 'errand' ride 2-3 times a week. Two 45-52 mile rides in April (Hertfordshire; Surrey) on a MTB with semi slicks; 1 30 miler with nobblies (canal paths and roads). Got a hybrid late June to do the DD but had chest infection that week so had to drop out. Week before did Tottenham-Cambridge-Baldock (nr Letchworth). Last weekend did Tottenham-Saffron Walden-Bishops Stortford - not so far but a hot hot hot day... So - am only just gettting into 'longer' rides. Hard to say what my pace is. Not fast. Only have £500 hybrid with 35 mm tyres, not a super smart drop bar skinny tyred dream with best gearing. And I tend to cycle with panniers versus a sweaty back: not exactly microlight...
Looks local, enthusiastic, active and serious but friendly. There are waaaay too many 'easy 12 mile ride' groups out there... Would have to turn up with your lot to see whether or not I can make the pace.
Would be interested in exploring Suffolk and Norfolk... Not quite ready yet to cycle home turf of the Dark Peak ;-)
