First and foremost all our rides are for FREE. We do not charge for the rides although you will have to pay for your lunch and travel fares. I map all the rides from scratch based on my interest, a suggestion by one of you, inspiration from an article or motivated by a challenge. Basically, I want to discover more and more of the amazing English countryside, to explore Europe and to experience cycling in different parts of the world.
We cycle regularly and we really and thoroughly enjoy our cycling. Over time, we have improved our fitness, our knowledge, developed our interest and increased our pace and the distances we cycle. There are many Meet Up groups focused on cycling catering for all abilities and interests. Please make sure this is the right group for you. We cycle long distances at a rather fastish pace and with few stops. Please check out our pace HERE. We also appreciate commitment so please read our attendance policy HERE. Our rides are only suitable for road or hybrid bikes. Unfortunately we don't cater for mountain biking yet.
This group has been running for over two years now. Our first ride and challenge was London to Brighton. Back then we thought of that event as a very challenging, tough and long ride. These days, we cycle L to B for our birthday celebration ride. Our events have gone that "extra mile" and we usually cycle a minimum of 70 miles although it's less during winter when daylight is more limited. We like to hit the countryside so we tend to start within one hour train journey out of London. Rides last for one day or one weekend and each year we organise a one week holiday in Europe.
Have a look at the pictures of our rides. We enjoy the cycling but we also relish the pub lunches at the end. Despite our lycra gear (due to comfort rather than fashion!!!) we are friendly and welcoming.
