50 Miler! (Experienced!!) Neuse River Trail Sponsored by Crank Arm Brewing!

  • This location is shown only to members

  • This (and all Feb events) ride is sponsored by Crank Arm Brewing!

Let's push ourselves today and get 50 ish miles in.

The route is starting at the Anderson Point Park Parking lot. Address to use for mapping is 20 Anderson Point Dr. Raleigh.  We will meet in the parking lot before you cross the bridge.  Plan on meeting at 9:45 a.m. and heading out at 10:00 a.m.  For reference - From Anderson Pt Park to the end of the Greenway in Clayton and back is a total of 34 miles. From Anderson Point to a little past Trailhead is 20 miles.  This route has a few decent climbs.  Given the mileage and climbs this is NOT A BEGINNER ride. We will try and keep the pace about 14 to 15 mph.

Also, it's always a good idea to bring essentials for a flat should that occur as we are going to be riding 50 miles.

    See you soon,

Cycling for Health is proud to announce that Crank Arm Brewing will be sponsoring our February Meetup events!  Crank Arm Brewing is a craft brewery with tasting room located in the heart of the warehouse district in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina. Their mission is to provide fresh artisan beer while utilizing green transportation methods.  Their address is 319 West Davie Street Raleigh, NC 27601.  They will be sponsoring our February events with at least one ride beginning and ending at the brewery.  A shout out to Dylan, of Crank Arm, for his enthusiastic support!

As long as I am not heading to Florida for a week long kayak trip I'll join you on this. If I can't make it I will change my rsvp.

Also Kim do we end the route where we parked our cars? Maybe a dumb question but wasn't sure .. : )

Oh no....not a dumb question at all. We will ride out to Clayton and return to where we start at Anderson Park (and yes we will be parked there).

Kim,, how are the hills? I've been over the summer prior to joining this group riding out in rural Franklin County where I live and have several pretty hefty climbs along the highways.? Is the entire trail paved as well or off road as in dirt etc.? Thx

Hey Jamie - There are some pretty decent climbs on this route. It is paved. We will not be taking any off the paved trail adventures. Historically, we pedal 3.5 to 4 hours for the 50 miles. We keep the stops to a minimal just because it's a long ride. Hopefully, this will help you decide if this ride is for you.
