The CFH One Year Anniversary Ride Hosted By Whole Foods, Wade Ave!

The inaugural Cycling for Health ride was on August 31, 2013.  We rode part of the House Creek and Crabtree GW's and ended our ride with food and chat at Whole Foods.

This year, Whole Foods will be hosting this event and setting up a buffet for the CFH riders after we return from our ride!  Tammy, at Whole Foods, has been great in offering this opportunity to us.  The buffet will consist of a breakfast burrito bar with vegan/vegetarian options.  Please purchase your breakfast through this event.  The price of $9.10 includes $7 for breakfast; some money for the State; and a transaction fee for purchasing online. The cutoff for payment is August 11.  If payment hasn't been received by that date your RSVP will be changed to "no" so that someone from the wait list may attend.  Refunds will be issued no later than August 16.

The guys from Oak City Cycling Project (our May sponsors) will be set up, (pre-ride) to go over participants bikes for safety checks.  Get there a few minutes early if you want them to look at your bike.  There may be a line.

This route will  be mostly greenway with a few city streets thrown in where the GW system doesn't connect.  I will outline the entire route soon, but I'm keeping it at around 20 miles to accommodate as many members as possible.  As always, this is a "no drop" ride.  We will stop and re-group as often as needed.

Below is a few of us from our first event, hanging out at Whole Foods.

Thank you for allowing Whole Foods Market to host your 1 year anniversary bike ride! I wanted to let you know that 100% of the breakfast ticket price has been donated to the Whole Kids Foundation! Whole Kids promotes healthy eating by planting gardens and putting salad bars in local schools! Also, a few people asked me for the recipe for the breakfast burrito. I changed the spices a bit, but you can the basic recipe here: http://ohsheglows.com/2012/06/08/spicy-potato-n-black-bean-burritos/. I hope you all had a great time and that this coming year will bring lots of great rides!

    Tammy :)

George, can you let me know what the schedule is on this? What time do you plan on eating? My daughter just told me she's driving up from Ft. Lauderdale on Friday, but isn't sure when she's leaving. She may arrive at my house at 3:30 am Saturday morning. If so, I probably won't be riding, but might still make the buffet. Knowing the schedule would help. Thanks!

Hey George. They're coming in around 11:00 tonight. The only chance I'm going to have to see them is tomorrow morning, so I will definitely miss the ride. I'm disappointed, but excited about seeing my daughter!

George, I knew I was forgetting something. I paid last night, Friday 8/15. Can I still count on a plate at the table or do I need a refund and go to plan B?

Hey George. I already paid. Is there something I need to bring with me to prove that I paid?

    August 8

  • George S.

I need to get a count of participants for whole foods so they know how many will be there for the breakfast buffet. Please click on the payment link, by the 11th, associated with your RSVP. Android users need to use the desk top option or, a pc to see the link. I don't know about iPhone users. Cost is $9.10. Looking forward to seeing everyone:)

Hey everybody! The link to buy your meal ticket (there's not really a ticket:) is not present on mobile apps. Log on through your phone using the desktop option or a computer.
