The inaugural Cycling for Health ride was on August 31, 2013. We rode part of the House Creek and Crabtree GW's and ended our ride with food and chat at Whole Foods.
This year, Whole Foods will be hosting this event and setting up a buffet for the CFH riders after we return from our ride! Tammy, at Whole Foods, has been great in offering this opportunity to us. The buffet will consist of a breakfast burrito bar with vegan/vegetarian options. Please purchase your breakfast through this event. The price of $9.10 includes $7 for breakfast; some money for the State; and a transaction fee for purchasing online. The cutoff for payment is August 11. If payment hasn't been received by that date your RSVP will be changed to "no" so that someone from the wait list may attend. Refunds will be issued no later than August 16.
The guys from Oak City Cycling Project (our May sponsors) will be set up, (pre-ride) to go over participants bikes for safety checks. Get there a few minutes early if you want them to look at your bike. There may be a line.
This route will be mostly greenway with a few city streets thrown in where the GW system doesn't connect. I will outline the entire route soon, but I'm keeping it at around 20 miles to accommodate as many members as possible. As always, this is a "no drop" ride. We will stop and re-group as often as needed.
Below is a few of us from our first event, hanging out at Whole Foods.
