Capital Trail and Virginia Thanksgiving Festival at Berkeley Plantation

We will ride the dedicated Capital bike trail from the visitor's center

Three options for this event:

Option 1:

You can ride your bike to Berkeley (which is near the end of and right off the Capital trail).  You will need a hybrid or mountain bike if you choose this option. The roads are not paved. It is probably 2-3 miles from the trail to the plantation. (approx. 20 miles there and back)

Option 2:

Cycle to the end of the  trail and return to the visitor's center.  Load your bike and drive to Berkeley and meet everyone there. (approx. 15 miles total)

Option 3:

Ride how ever much you feel like riding on the trail or don't ride at all and meet us at Berkeley.

Suggested items to bring:

  • Road, hybrid or mountain bike
  • water
  • helmet
  • Feel free to rock the spandex but you might want to bring back up clothes to avoid looking like a goof for the festival portion;)

I am a new member and looking forward to meeting you all. I'm a Lego robotics coach and the tournament was yesterday- somehow I tripped going *up* the bleachers and am trying to sort out my calf. If I can't ride I'll try to make it to the party, otherwise thank you for lettin me join and I'll look forward to next time! By the way, can kids come if they can keep up? My boys are probably faster than me now:)
