Waverly Ride With RABA

RIDE MOVES OUT AT 9:00. PLEASE TRY TO GET TO THE PARKING LOT BY 8:45 A.M. TO ALLOW TIME FOR GETTING READY TO ROLL.

This ride travels through the rural countryside south of Waverly to Sussex Court House and then on to the Village of Yale.  The route is very rural with few cars to bother us. There will be a stop at cycling friendly Thornton's store where rest rooms will be available. After the ride all participants are invited to join the group for lunch at Giuseppe's in Waverly.

C+ Pace (13-15 MPH AVERAGE). Faster riders are welcome, maps and cue sheets will be available. This ride is 48 miles long with only a few hills.

Directions: The starting point is the parking lot behind the La Hacienda restaurant (now closed) at 101 S County Drive, Waverly, Va. 23290 -  at the corner of Routes 460 and 40 (Main Street) in the town of Waverly. From Richmond take I-95 or I-295 to Route 460 east toward Norfolk. Allow about one full hour from downtown Richmond, more if you are coming from one of the outlying areas. PLEASE WATCH YOUR SPEED AS YOU APPROACH THE TOWN OF WAVERLY! SPEED LIMITS ARE STRICTLY ENFORCED!

You're right about the times! No one has wanted to carpool for several months. I like to carpool normally, but really can't commit this wekend, as my grandbaby is due any second now. If someone else would like to carpool with Bob, please contact him or leave a message here. thanks!

RABA's "No-Drop" Chuck will be there to lead a slower group. If you can maintain a 12 MPH average you should be fine for his group!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
