Jamestown Ferry to Smithfield Ride with RABA

Meet at Jamestown High School (intersection of John Tyler Hwy and Eagle Way, Williamsburg, VA 23185) for the spring version of this popular ride. We'll ride the Virginia Capital Trail to the Jamestown Ferry and cross the James River. After 24 quiet miles on Surry and Isle of Wight County roads, the group will have lunch at the Smithfield Station on the Pagan River. The return route will pass by Bacon's Castle and Chippokes State Park to Scotland Wharf for the return trip on the ferry.

When we did this ride last October there were some problems with the time it took at the restaurant. Part of the problem was the group's size (38 riders!). I would suggest that the faster riders order as soon as they arrive or else do the buffet which is quicker.

C Pace (average 12 to 14 mph), 54 miles of cycling. Faster riders are welcome and cue sheets will be available. Be sure to be on time, we need to start riding no later than 9:00 in order to catch the ferry!

This ride is also on the Richmond Area Bicyclists schedule and usually draws about 20+ riders from that group.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
