The Linux SIG normally meets on the third Wednesday of the month. SIG meetings are a benefit of DACS membership, but you may try your first meeting before deciding to join DACS. Directions to the DACS Resource Center are posted here: http://www.dacs.org/sigroups/directions.htm#ives.
Our SIG involves itself with a broad range of topics related to Linux: figuring the in's and out's of software, hardware, new Linux products on the market, and new versions of Linux distributions such as Ubuntu, Fedora, SuSe. Our meetings tend to have some focus topics that are geared to beginner, intermediate and advanced users. We discuss security issues, configuration problems, how to connect electronic devices and so on. Our agenda tends to be fluid and specific to the attendees. Most of us bring our laptops, electronic devices, etc. so we can demonstrate topics and share files.
One topic at our January 16th meeting will be about the configuring the DFRduino RoMeo V1.1 microcontroller and the DFRobot Mobile Platform which uses it.
