From an occupational standpoint, there is a relationship between those who are constantly exposed to death (i.e., homicide detectives, surgeons, etc.) and their general outlook in life. In many cases, the impact of such may result in two extreme perspectives: 1) those who view their existence with a heightened understanding and appreciation for life, opportunity, and influence and 2) those who are often tormented by the reality and potential implications of death. The later may often engage in destructive behavior in an attempt to escape the inevitable....

Good participation and exchange of ideas tonight!
I open a discussion for the next meeting soon so you can start sharing suggestions.

Sorry, I'm caught in a maze at a client location not likely to make it back to town in time. Really had looked forward to the gathering. Next time! Be at the Queen Vic on Richmond near Kirby tomorrow around 6 pm, anyone who wants to join do! Cheers to all...Lisa H.

Good evening all, topics suggestions have been posted under More>polls.
    Voice your opinion.

For the next few meetings, we will go back to good old philosophy subjects.

One of the core characteristic of this group is the we philosophize more than talking about philosophy. In other words, you don't have to know anything about any philosopher to join and discuss. There is no required reading or anything to study before the meetings. Just come and share your view of the world.

    Now, go vote!

    Hi group,

This meetup is the first one of a series that will bring us back to the basics. In the following weeks let's the discussion going and see what topics YOU are interested in.

In order to at least cover the meetup fees, I will ask a participation of $1 per person per meeting.

    Nic
