JavaScript Fundamentals: The Power of Functions

  • Aug 28, 2014 · 6:30 PM
  • Dev Bootcamp NYC

Functions in JavaScript can be used in all kinds of interesting ways: as constructors for objects, as closures encapsulating scope, and as objects themselves whose context and state can be changed before execution. Many JavaScript developers never use functions to their fullest capacity.

In this lesson, we will explore the various ways that functions can be used in JavaScript. There will be both experimentation and real-world examples.

Bring a laptop and be ready to get your hands dirty (with code).

Note: This meetup is reserved for alumni and prospective students of Dev Bootcamp.  More spaces for the event will be made available Tuesday 8/25. If you are not a Dev Bootcamp alumni or prospective student please RSVP on or after 8/25. Thank you.

Great talk, I think the quick answer to what is a prototype is was the best part. Will slides be posted?

I just read the note on the bottom. I haven't applied yet, but I intend to. Does this qualify me as a prospective student. If not, I will apply right after breakfast, because I really want to attend this and Dev Bootcamp is at the top of my list!
