The XX -- POSTPONED TO JANUARY

I'm a relatively new member and have yet to even go to a Meetup event, but this concert is irresistible to me. The XX will soon release a much-anticipated new album, and I tremendously enjoyed the one and only time I have seen them.

Anyone who is still looking for something to do tonight - Black Cat is open, and Heartless Bastards are playing - not at all in the same wheelhouse as XX, but they are pretty good!

I'm also keeping a wary eye on the weather forecast for Tuesday. It wouldn't surprise me if the show gets cancelled or rescheduled because of bad weather and power outages. I guess we'll need to stay in touch.

Melanie, I have a friend who may want your tickets, but I won't know anything until at least Monday. If you can sell them now, go for it.

    Hey folks,

I'm checking in to see who's going and how we should meet up. Doors open at 7:00; music begins at 8:00.

I'm not terribly familiar with restaurants nearby Rams Head, if people want to eat beforehand. There is a Ruth Steak House right next to Rams Head, but it's expensive. Rams Head also serves food, although I understand it's not terrific. It does get you in the door before doors open. It's probably easiest to just meet at Rams Head, and adjust the "meet-up" time accordingly.

If people haven't gone to Rams Head Live before, it has a relatively small floor area and a second story tier that wraps around, forming kind of a stop sign shape if you're facing the stage. The "bends" on the second tier are idea spots for viewing bands but they fill up quickly. Behind the second tier is a limited seating area. While comfortable, it's far from the stage and sound is terrible.

Oh, wait. I'm not hosting this show! Joe, are you the host? I don't have to cancel the meetup. Yay! But please feel free to buy my tickets, at cost.

This is a bit of a different strategy, since it's an out-of-town show. So far, we have all gone up in the same car for out-of-town shows. We tend to eat at Joe Squared before the show (most of the shows have been at the Windup), but Ram's Head isn't near there. I don't know if you want to go up together, do dinner beforehand, etc. I also don't know what's edible around the Harbor, where Ram's Head is. It's kinda Hooters-type territory.

Oh, and thanks, Kevin, for hosting.

Keep up with the thread, Eric. Sometimes folks will have extra tickets.

I am going to have to cancel this meetup, unless someone else wants to host? I also have two tickets available.

crap, I signed up for this, and then sorta forgot to get tickets. I'm not used to having to buy tickets so far in advance. How dare people like the same bands I like.
