Horrible, horrible... FYI it's not a good idea to start changing your shot 3 days before a competition

Entirely my fault... Took my first lesson with Ruth on Tuesday. She tried to talk me out of it but i didn't listen... Oops

I changed my shot a few days prior. I found that during the tournament I was resorting to the old way. So I finished the tournament with my old technique.

This will be my first and last ever tournament in archery. It sounds like it will be sheer hell from beginning to end. There is nothing the least bit comfortable with shooting in a wall to wall line. PLUS spectators. Oh, goody! Witnesses! And I get to feel like shit when it's over.

Whaaa? It's really pretty casual, just think of it as getting practice with competition range etiquette, and you get to meet a lot of cool archers. True, it might get a bit stuffy indoors... that's why I love the typical Saturday practices that we do at Lake Need wood. Good luck, have fun!

I did better than I thought I would. I can't say it was "fun" though. Not sure about the state tournament.

I emailed [masked] about switching my shooting time to the 1pm line (I chose 5pm on my form). I emailed twice this week asking if this was okay and never got a response. I'm not sure what to do at this point... I can't make it there at 5pm anymore.

From what I've heard, the 1pm line is pretty full, but the 9am line has room. Hope you can make it, good luck!

I will be shooting at 1 pm. I will probably be looking very concerned and in deep discussions with my coach about what I am doing wrong.

I will try to meet the group for the first time at 3 pm, if I can get my bow fixed in time

Just let everyone knows that there is a FTA shoot on Sunday at 3 pm. This may be your last chance to sight in before the tournament.

Is it possible to just watch the tournament and not have to pay the entrance fee? I am just a newbee who has not yet acquired my bow :(

I might be there anyway. Depends on how I perform the week prior. And whether skiing is a better option that day.
