Build Party Follow-Up Workshop

Just in case you miss the build party on Nov 2, or need some additional assistance with your setup after the build party, we're holding a follow-up session.

It's for:

1. Finishing up your guided kit!
2. Calibration, verification, and testing of your build!
3. Hanging out, discussing, pondering.
4. Fixing any problems with your kit if there were missing or defective parts.

Note: Please bring everything you need including your tools or let me know if there's something you'd like to borrow

I found a location to host. Please see event, it will be held at GMU in the Engineering Building, Room 1110. Very close to where the conference and also where the build party was held.

I'm looking to buy AeroSim RC Simulator. What type of connector should I get for remote control? JR/Spektrum mono jack, Graupner MC series stereo jack, or the Graupner MX series mono jack with DSC socket? I'm not sure if the one that comes with the kit is the right one or not. Also, is there a local hobby shop that carries the software or is online the best place to buy it? Thanks.

For the DEVO 10 you want the JR/Spektrum series mono jack.

The meeting yesterday was outstanding (my first) and I particularly appreciate how helpful everybody was to noobs like me. Was so motivated that I came home and spent much of the rest of the day surfing for info, ideas, etc., related to my AR Drone 2.0. One especially interesting and helpful source I found is Kyle Tarpley's AR Drone YouTube channel at http://www.youtube.com/user/ARDroneChannel. His Hog Mod is tres clever, simple, and nearly free; the other methods of protecting the gears are expensive and heavy.

Looking forward to next week's workshop.
