SOMD Tuesday Night Fly In

We will meet at the Solomons side of the Thomas Johnson Bridge.

The flying area is the field across from the Solomon’s Island Information Center and the Calvert Co. Marine Museum. There is plenty of parking under the bridge.

What an evening! This was my first fly-in but it felt like I had been flying with these guys for ages. So Ken will this be the third Tuesday of each month?

Thanks everyone for all the help last night! It was a great feeling of accomplishment getting our quad off the ground. To celebrate, we stopped for victory milkshakes on the way home.
Between the FPV flying, the help, and the maiden flight, Dylan was super excited by the end of the night and couldn't stop talking about it. He's hooked and so am I.

Great time, great people, lots of flying. We had four new folks show last night, a new quad built by a farther and son got up for its first flight. Big thanks to the folks that assisted them in all the last minute details that allowed them to see their first quad in the air. As usual we some fixed wing and of course the various multicopters. Folks came down from NOVA and College Park. We even had a person drive up and ask for help with his collection of RC aircraft that he never got into the air without crashing. The group welcomed him in and let him fly a quad and at the same time discussed how we can all help. The winds were only 5 knots, but very hot and humid. Some great videos and pics were taken as well as lots of FPV flying. Thanks to everyone that came out.
