Introduction
A web developer living in Northern VA. I do hobbyist projects all the time, co-founder of the Nova Labs makerspace in Reston, VA. I live to make!
What's your experience working with drones? Beginners are welcome!
Experienced with an SM450 quadcopter and Ardupilot. Heavy experience in embedded electronics, general mechanics and systems manufacturing.
What kind of equipment do you own/operate (ArduCopter 3DR Hexacopter, Swinglet, Parot AR, etc...) You don't need to have your own equipment to join the group.
Up until 2007, I flew electric and nitro RC planes. Created some custom delta wing profiles with a hotwire. But I put that on hold while life interrupted. I'm starting to pull my head out of the sand an experience the hobbyist equipment available.
What events would you like to see this group have?
Meet and greets, demonstrations, competitions, and BUILD GROUPS! Maybe lectures on aspects of copter types - like Arducopter software, building a frame, tailoring the electronics, batteries, etc.

I will plan on attending the Arduino group meeting tomorrow. I would really enjoy helping out anyone who needs advice on Arduino/embedde
d projects. I had a great time at the open house. Lots of interesting conversations that got me excited to get involved and get some of the projects that have been bouncing around in my head out into the physical world.

Ted, quick question, trying to make a DC to DC power supply for my laptop. Essentially car charger for my laptop. What is best and easy to output 19.5v 3.34a? Thinking some IC should be able to do this but I would like 3rd person opinion. Thanks.
