Introduction
I've been involved in the geospatial industry for 15 years through my work. I've always had an interest in autonomous systems. I don't have my own drone yet, but am interested to learn more and get one. Looking forward to meeting like minded people!
What's your experience working with drones? Beginners are welcome!
I don't have my own drone yet, but am interested in learning more and buying an introductory one or building one.
What kind of equipment do you own/operate (ArduCopter 3DR Hexacopter, Swinglet, Parot AR, etc...) You don't need to have your own equipment to join the group.

What events would you like to see this group have?
I'd like to see events where the drones are flown, but also "lab" type instructional events where people can learn how to build drones, program the software, etc. I think it would also like to see events where we can discuss the future of drones -- their applications and markets.

Jens, we're having a RaspPi Make Meetup tonight, you're welcome to stop by. We have a range of other things (you're actually hitting all the high notes with your list). We recently hosted the Drone group at Nova Labs with their build - what a great set of folks! We have 3d-printing and robotics groups that are meeting, and we're ramping up Arduino-ness.
