What's your experience working with drones? Beginners are welcome!

What kind of equipment do you own/operate (ArduCopter 3DR Hexacopter, Phantom, AR Drone etc...) You don't need to have your own equipment to join the group.

I've got a few flights in stability mode and FBW mode with my own design fixed wing plaform using and Ardupilot and ArduIMU. My airframe design has already proven itself in regular RC mode. What was new to me was programming and arduopilot. I crashed a few times before I figured a few things out, but the airframe survived to achieve successful autopilot flight.

What events would you like to see this group have?

I'd like to see a group fly somewhere in MD, a big field in MD somewhere between DC and Frederick would be great.

How did you hear about this group?

My tricopter is almost ready to go flying. I've been rewriting the stability and control from airplane to tricopter which is challenging for a novice programmer. Lots to learn, most experience with mold making and airplane design.
