What's your experience working with drones? Beginners are welcome!

Not too much flying experience but I build my own quads from sticks and bits of plywood. Mainly small [masked]mm) quads but have one larger. I also have a general class HAM license.

What kind of equipment do you own/operate (ArduCopter 3DR Hexacopter, Phantom, AR Drone etc...) You don't need to have your own equipment to join the group.

I started with a HK PCB mini quad and soon wrecked that. I have KK, KK2 and MultiWii controllers fitted to home built quads. I use a Turnigy 9X and a few other cheap HK 2.4GHz radios. I have started playing with FPV but nothing too serious. I have a number of 5.6 GHz tx/rx modules and a few different cameras.

What events would you like to see this group have?

Fly days. It is hard to find somewhere to fly and we have the DC restricted zone to contend with.

How did you hear about this group?

Random search on the web.

Introduction

I have some embedded system (hardware and software) development experience, PICs and the like. Now looking at Atmel and ARM processors at hobby level. Also rekindling my interest in model aircraft and RC.
