Yes - we are going to Green Spring Gardens on Sunday.
I was there this morning (Monday) - lots of flowers in bloom - the display along the native plant trail was the best I've even seen at Green Spring.
We will meet in the parking lot at Green Spring at 7 AM (actually probably a few minutes after - depending on when they open the gate). Photograph for two hours - then for anyone who wants to - meet at the Starbucks at 6552 Little River Turnpike (corner of Braddock Rd and Little River Turnpike - just up the street from the gardens) at 9 or so. Let's plan on meeting at the outside tables once we have our coffee.
For those of you who have never been to Green Spring Gardens - a note of caution if you use a Garmin GPS - or anything that uses Garmin's maps - Garmin identifies two entrances for Green Spring Gardens - neither of them go through to the parking lot where we are meeting - and it doesn't recognize the main entrance as being Green Spring Gardens.
To get to the main entrance and parking lot - from the intersection of Braddock Road and Little River Turnpike - go north on Braddock Road (left turn from Little River if you are coming from the beltway - straight on Braddock if you are coming from the beltway) - Go about .2 miles - on your right you will see Witch Hazel Road on your right - there will be stone walls with a sign that says Green Spring Gardens and this morning there was a green and white sign advertising the plant sale. TURN HERE - part way up Witch Hazel drive is a set of gates across the road - hopefully they'll be open - if they are - drive through to the parking lot. If they aren't - chances are there will be a line of cars waiting - just get in line :-) Gates were open by 7:15 this morning - I think they are supposed to open at 7
Looking forward to seeing everyone on Sunday
