Location is changing for this Saturday's meetup. We're going to McKee Beshers Wildlife Managment Area for SUNFLOWERS rather than Kenilworth Gardens for lotuses.
The sunflowers have started blooming - looks like they should be wonderful this weekend. Since the lotuses have a longer bloom period - we're switching to McKee Beshers and I'll try to schedule something at Kenilworth in the next few weeks.
We'll be meeting in the first parking lot at McKee Beshers on River Road - this is the big dirt/gravel lot. Lot is on the left as you head out River Road - go past the Old Seneca Schoolhouse - past where the Poolesville General Store used to be (I know helpful if you've never been there) - look for a brown sign that says McKee Beshers on the left - you're getting close. Next sign to look for is a historical marker sign on the left - parking lot is just after that sign. If the parking lot is full - people get creative with parking along the street - do you best - stay safe. Look for me in the parking lot - I'll be driving a gray Toyota 4 Runner
We'll photograph until about 8:30 or so - and then anyone who wants to - we'll head to the Starbucks in Potomac for something cold to drink and a bathroom!
If you want to photograph the lotuses at Kenilworth Gardens this weekend - RoadRunners Photograph Tours has a meetup scheduled at Kenilworth at the same time we were originally going to be there. I've checked with Don and Denise who run Road Runners - and anyone from Flower Safari who wants to photograph lotuses is welcome to join them on Saturday. Info about their meetup is at http://www.meetup.com/Road-Runner-Photography-Tours/events/154764262/
Sorry about the short notice for the location change - but it's what happens in the summer when the sunflowers bloom
Hope to see you on Saturday
