This group explores “What is wellness”, with the goal of providing individuals an avenue to explore different tools that can help them create wellness in their lives.
Starting from the premise that, “Wellness can be defined as purposeful, enjoyable living or, more specifically, a deliberate lifestyle choice characterized by personal responsibility and optimal enhancement of physical, mental, and spiritual health.”, participants of this Meet Up group gather together every month to share a vegan macrobiotic meal and hear a speaker address a different aspect of wellness. All are speakers are professional experts in their own fields of wellness.
The Dimensions of health being: 1- Physical health; 2- psychological health; 3- spiritual health; 4- social health; 5- intellectual health; 6- environmental health, all topics related to these are explored from a body-mind-spirit connection, blending Eastern and Western traditions.
Topics explored include: nutrition, stress management, happiness, relationships, consciousness, macrobiotics & Traditional Chinese Medicine precepts, integration of body, mind and spirit to reach one’s optimal health one’s highest potential, among many others.
This group is an extension of Healthy Living Inc., which is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to “educating people of all backgrounds, regardless of income, in how to plan and prepare simple, delicious, healthy meals in an environment that is supportive and safe, and which fosters community spirit.”
