Secular Speaking

This is the first meeting of a group designed to enhance the speaking skills of its members. Speeches of any length from 3 to 15 minutes are welcomed. Do you have something to say on religion, science, philosophy, humor or just how to have fun? Speakers are even free to emulate religious sermons if they wish. If someone can do a emulation of Pastor Deacon Fred Smith it would be delightful. We will have several people with excellent experience with public speaking to nurture the skills of the group. This will include impromptu speaking. If you don't have topic in mind but are willing to speak we can provide a topic for you. Of course, people are free to just come, be part of the audience and enjoy the company of our group. We will be delighted to have you. The Southeast Library is next to the Eastern Market Metro stop.

We had about 7 total in attendance. Great speeches and great company!

Potentially fruitful idea. Don's speech was especially right on the money.

I got there as it ended. My grumblebunny and I just couldn't get there in time. But it looked promising, and I'll be there next time!

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
