Re: [atheists-27] Atheist shoes vs Post Office

One heck of a lot of letters are delivered with FedEx or some other overnight service.  We already have private competition for that category of service.

There is no chance that other services will be able to deliver letters at less than 50 cents per piece.  There does seem to be a natural monopoly with the relatively bulk service of routine mailings.  The obvious fact is that this is a rapidly diminishing monopoly.  Much less information is being delivered with markings on the residue of dead trees.  The USPS is unable to respond rapidly enough to deal with this changing market.  They are already in default with their retirement commitments.  I don't know what the future is for the USPS but there is real chance that Tom will get his wish.

We have a 21st century economy with a 19th century post office.  We should allow private competition for letter service, as we do for parcel service.  Maybe the USPS should be privatized.

(lol) ...why would a package of shoes delivered in the mail be labled Atheist?

Anyways, there's a documentary on Netflix called....

"Murder By Proxy: How America Went Postal"

Explains how messed up the USPS actually is

The Post Office has been empirically shown to have obvious bigotry against atheist shoes.  Packages labelled as atheist arrive on average three days later and are nine times as likely to be not delivered at all.
