Stolen Seas*

Stolen Seas tackles stereotypes of piracy through the nail-biting events of the hijacking of the CEC Future and its 13 crew members by Somali pirates. The film shows the stark economic divide between two men who are involved on both sides of the confrontation: Ishmael Ali the pirates’ translator and Per Gullestrup, shipping magnet and owner of the CEC Future. “Piracy has transformed into a well-developed business,” says Ali, “and I am part of that business.”
Utilizing exclusive interviews and unparalleled access to pirates and hostages, Stolen Seas presents a chilling exploration of the Somali pirate phenomenon.
Following the screening, there will be a discussion with the filmmaker, Thymaya Payne, as well as members of the diaspora community on the film and the issues and thoughts that it enlightens.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
