In recent months there has been a growing interest in Kizomba. Kizomba is a slow, sensual dance originally created in Angola in the eighties. It is a mixture of Angolan Semba and Zouk from the French West Indies. Kizomba is most popular in Portuguese-speaking, or Lusophone countries, including Angola and Portugal.
The dance is sensual and fluid, a sort of oozing and swaying around the dance floor that can only be described as a pleasure to watch!

Afrosensuality – in partnership with prominent organizations in the Afro-Lusophone community, is dedicated to promoting the culture and dance of Kizomba and Semba. Celebrating Afro-Lusophone and Afro-Francophone culture in the DMV, Afrosensuality organizes events, dance classes, festivals, and parties in the Washington, DC area.
