Microsoft monopolistic business practice

Microsoft is on a path to force hardware manufacturers to use something called a "secure boot certificate" from them to allow future security enhanced PC hardware to operate. This would be a monopoly. Microsoft would get a cut from every PC that would be sold for no reason at all other than "suited" thuggery: this is like a street hoodlum demanding protection money from a Mom & Pop business. Hi Arthur,

The way Microsoft does business is exactly the reason why I've been a Linux developer for many, many years. This Secure Boot Certificate is yet another monopolistic action from Microsoft. Many of us in the Open Source Software community are fighting it and working with hardware manufacturers to build hardware that will not require this method of booting. Most of the manufacturers that we are working with are already very large supporters of Linux.
