Sunday Brunch - Let's Go Hog Wild!

Some people think pigs are dirty animals. Then there's folk like me who say, with a sing-song voice, "God made dirt so dirt don't hurt!" I also believe that God made brunch so I have to brunch a bunch...and between the two, that's how I arrived at Pig Restaurant!

While Pig pays homage to the oinker, there's also salads and vegan dishes. But I'm gonna describe to you the pork nom-nom's, like the hickory BBQ sandwich with buttermilk slaw. Or the chicken fried pork and waffle. Perhaps the shrimp and grits with andouille sausage and gravy. And sides like truffled mac and cheese or desserts like chocolate cake with made-in-house ice cream. Oh snap...I just ate my computer screen!

Photos of some non-pork options are below. Warning: you might eat your screen too.

Brief description from a brunch-reviewing website: "The pig products are delectable, the Southern-style cuisine unbelievably rich and comforting, and the vegetables fresh and local."

Six spots are available for this brunch, with a waitlist should folks cancel. I had to hold this reservation with a credit card so if you RSVP and can't make it, PLEASE UN-RSVP or you will be forever blocked from the group. Besides, why miss good food and friends?

The restaurant is within walking distance of DuPont Circle Metro (red).

Ironically, the pics just told me "we love Kim!" (you may want to watch your back when it comes to those pics...as Public Enemy said, "can't truss 'em...") :-P

We can't get to that section from the app. We'll have to get on our laptops to make the comments under group reviews. :-)

Always happy to bring fun to the masses! And to myself, with that chicken-fried pork steak with sausage gravy (just typing that makes my heart seize a little bit). Let's do it again soon!

I'm really glad I joined this group. I had a fun time with great people and can't wait until the next unofficial bar/food crawl.

This group has the most relaxed and cool people ever. Always a fun time, even if we do 4 meetups in 1. Never a dull moment.

I'll be there wearing the same white hat as in my profile photo. If you drive, leave early...14th Street is terrible at having available parking space!

Reminder to those who've previously RSVPed that the brunch has been moved to May 18...don't show up on May 11 (unless you really can't wait to try the food)!
