Drink and Draw, obviously!

BYO sketchbook, pencils, pens, enough money to buy your drinks and tip your bartender well. Since this is the first one, I'm going to see if/when other people join before setting a time and date, but in general- evening, sometime in January/February, somewhere between Petworth and Chinatown.

Good times! I met some chill art interested individuals, drank some mimosas, and completed some doodles. Thanks everybody who showed up, hope to do this again.

I've never been to this place (The Getaway)...any tips on parking in the area? Thanks!

Observationally, I don't think there's much parking in the area- metro and walk is likely easiest. :/

Hi everyone! I suggest Chinatown! Maybe Fado? That place is cozy. Mmmm... art and Guinness.

Did the location just change to the White House? Or is something wrong with my phone?

It did, but only because I needed to remove Fado, and it won't let me update that without updating the address line. Ergo, the single most recognizable (and thus improbable) street address, which will be changed again once we do know where we'll be. :|

Bad news: Fado turns out not to be an option, and we'll need to find an alternative spot. I wrote a long-winded post on the discussion board/email (http://www.meetup.com/DC-Drink-Draw/messages/boards/) but I'm not sure who reads that/is signed up for my emails, and I don't want any poor souls wandering around in the cold, so, other options:
    RFD (Chinatown)
    The Getaway (Columbia Heights)
The Coupe (Columbia Heights- food's a bit meh, but loungey and roomy)
or meeting in the Kogod Courtyard, American Art Museum, and figuring out where to go from there.

Sorry dudes and ladies, I know it's pretty crappy to switch it up this late, but hopefully it can be salvaged!

And if there are alternatives, please suggest them! I'm also just gonna suggest that if there's this many of us, cash is probably a thing to have on hand in case check splitting might come up.

And for anyone who can't make this one, there will be more weekday/Sunday options in the future!

Holy moly, there's so many of you! Since it's on the table, and I think it might work- does Fado, Jan 26 (Saturday), around 1 PM work for everyone? Post-inauguration, easy access, pretty roomy, and it looks like it works with your schedules. If that doesn't work, let me know!

I don't suppose we could do it at noon or after 4:30 or even on a Sunday afternoon? Just being selfish because I train at an mma gym every Saturday from 2 to 4, but if it works for everyone else, I'm sure I can get out of a training session once in a while. :-)

Weekday evenings are easiest for me and usually less crowded, but am pretty flexible. Great idea, btw.

The weekends are wonderful, and any evening other than Thursday would work as well. Fado is pretty relaxed.

Fado could work out. Daywise, is the weekend difficult? I have a 9-5 myself.
