Using Android to Send/Receive Payments and Process Credit Cards

According to mashable.com 'In the last six months alone, PayPal says it has generated nearly twice the mobile payment volume than it did in all of 2009. '

In out next meet up a representative from PayPal will show us how you can integrate the PayPal API in your Android applications to send and receive payments securely. The PayPal representative will also talk about how to use the PayPal Android application to:

  • Send money to friends and family
  • Bump phones to quickly and easily transfer funds between phones which makes it easy to pay for group dinners etc
  • Withdraw funds, split the check (at a restaurant), and more

We will then look at how you can easily accept/process credit cards on your Android phone!

Come join fellow Android enthusiast to learn about Android, network and have fun. Pizza and drinks will be provided.

Very informative, Prasanna was very helpful and went out of his way to cover every question that was raised. I am looking forward to future meetups.

PayPal has done a good job in making the API easy to integrate into applications. It will really be up to developers to come up with ideas for apps that utilize this mechanism as a monetization tool..

Meetup was great, very informative and well run despite a few bumps along the way. Can't wait for the next meetup as I am sure they will get better after each one.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
